ITINERARY

 Day 1

Transfer from SJO to Isla Chiquita

When you arrive in San Jose, you will be greeted by your private driver, who will transport you to a ferry dock in Puntarenas (approx. 2 hours). You will board a ferry for Paquera, at the Southern end of the Nicoya Peninsula. One of five blue zones in the world, the residents here are known for living long and healthy lives, enriched by community, cuisine, lifestyle and climate. The energy here will set the stage for a balanced, and romantic stay, perfect for honeymooning couples. From Paquera, you will take a guest ferry to Isla Chiquita, a premier glamping hotel. This little slice of heaven will enchant you. The tents are well equipped, and include high-end finishes, complete with  modern en-suite bathrooms. The grounds are lush, and the views are stunning.

Note: This property is so unique that we don’t have a list of comparable hotels in case it is fully booked. To ensure a spot, we recommend booking several months out from your arrival date. We will discuss alternatives should we not be able to book Isla Chiquita.

 Day 2

Isla Chiquita

We have opted for the “full-board” option, so that all of your meals are covered. The food is plentiful and fresh. During your time at Isla Chiquita, you can take advantage of the activities they offer. We will pre-arrange for you to take a SUP (stand-up paddleboard) lesson, a beginner kayaking expedition, and the highly recommended nighttime bioluminescent tour. The exact schedule for these activities can be determined upon your arrival.

 Day 3

Isla Chiquita

In addition to the activities outlined above, there are optional excursions you may be interested in. They include island hopping, a trip to Tortuga island, snorkeling, birdwatching, a bio-reserve hike, and more. You can be as busy or relaxed as you want to be.

 Day 4

Transfer to Manuel Antonio

After breakfast at your hotel, you will take the guest ferry back to Paquera, where you will take the ferry to Puntarenas (retracing your steps from your arrival day). In Puntarenas, your private driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel in Manuel Antonio (approx. 2.5 hours). Manuel Antonio is a lively beach town that sits just north of the national park that shares its name. It is one of the few places where you can experience the abundant wildlife of the rainforest, while also enjoying beautiful beaches. You will check into the Parador Nature Resort and Spa (or comparable hotel), which sits atop Punta Quepos promontory, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. This luxury property is surrounded by 12 acres of lush rainforest. You might see monkeys, sloths, toucans, macaws, and more, right from your balcony.

 Day 5

Manuel Antonio

Today is a free day. We can suggest taking a walk to Playa Biesanz, a nearby beach (bring water shoes). There are vendors on the beach selling drinks, umbrellas, chairs and snorkel equipment. The resort also has a wonderful nature trail to get up close with the flora and fauna.

 Day 6

Manuel Antonio

Manuel Antonio National Park is the country’s smallest national park, but one of the most beloved. The trick to a successful day in Manuel Antonio is to go early, and to use an excellent guide. It is possible to see sloths, monkeys, and many exotic birds, and the earlier you go, the more likely you are to see them. You will be picked up from, and returned to your hotel. We know you will love your time in the park, which will be greatly enhanced by the skills and experience of your guide.

Note: You are not allowed to bring any food or drinks into the park unless it is in reusable containers and reusable water bottles. No single use plastic products are allowed.

 Day 7

Manuel Antonio

Enjoy your last day in Costa Rica by relaxing at your hotel, or heading into town for some souvenir shopping. You will also be treated to a couples swedish massage at the resort’s spa – just what you need before re-entry into your life back home. Be sure to catch the sunset one last time – a memory that will stay with you long after your departure.
