This 8 day, 7 night tour is for those with an adventurous spirit. There will be challenges, but we think you’ll enjoy every one of them! You’ll travel to Monteverde upon arrival for three days of activities, including a Class III-IV River Rafting trip, a canopy zip line tour that boasts the longest canopy ride in Costa Rica. You’ll also get to rappel in the canyon, try the 3,380 foot Aerial Superman, and the 623 foot Subterranean Superman. When you transfer to Manuel Antonio, you will enjoy Waterfall Rappelling during a 7-in-1 Canyoning Adventure. You can also try the Skilled Suspension Bridges, a famous “Monkey Drop,” an Inclined Rappel, Tree Climbing Ladders, Tree-Top Rappelling, Canopy Tour Zip Lines. We also have a few optional activities for your “recovery” days, including a hike in the Monteverde Reserve, and a coffee, chocolate and sugarcane tour (with samples!), and you’ll get out on the ocean on a Sunset Catamaran Cruise. This tour is great for friend groups who want a bonding experience, couples who love an adrenaline rush, and really anyone who is looking for a vacation they’ll always remember.

Itinerary
Day 1
SJO to Monteverde
When you arrive at SJO airport a private driver will transport you approx. 3 hours to the misty cloud forests of Monteverde, where wildlife is abundant and where you never run out of adventures. You’ll stay at Hotel and Spa Poco a Poco, a small luxury hotel (or comparable hotel). You can enjoy the grounds, the spa and the onsite Otocuma Bar & Restaurant. Centrally located in the town of Santa Elena, you can also walk around town and dine in any number of other restaurants.
Day 2
Monteverde
We kick it into high gear right off the bat with a Class III-IV rafting trip on Rio Tenorio. Costa Rica has the reputation of being the number one white water rafting destination. Your 7 hour tour includes transportation from your hotel and also lunch. You will travel for 12 km on the river, and experience more than 22 fun and exciting rapids. The guides are very experienced and will ensure your safety, even on the 12-foot waterfall drop!
Day 3
Monteverde
We’ll give you a day to recover but if you're interested in seeing more of the cloud forest, we can suggest a guided hike. And if you want a relaxing and informative tour - we can also recommend a Coffee, Chocolate and Sugar Cane tour. We're happy to set these up for you if you're interested. Otherwise, enjoy the day however you like!
Day 4
Monteverde
Today you will head into the forest for a Canopy Zip Lining Tour. This tour boasts the longest Canopy ride in Costa Rica - 4km! There 11 Cables, a Tarzan Swing, a chance to Rappel, an Aerial Superman (3,380 feet), and a Subterranean Superman which is a 623 foot tunnel. You will be picked from, and returned to your hotel. We have a feeling you will sleep well after this exciting day.
Day 5
Transfer to Manuel Antonio
After breakfast you will be driven by private shuttle to Manuel Antonio (approx. 4 hours), where you will check into the Parador Nature Resort & Spa (or comparable hotel). The hotel sits on 12 acres of wildlife-rich tropical rainforest overlooking the Pacific. The grounds are home to many species of monkeys, sloths and a variety of birds including macaws, falcons and toucans..
Day 6
Manuel Antonio
We hope you’re ready for some excitement today as you experience waterfall rappelling, in a 7-in-1 Canyoning Adventure Tour. This company follows ethical tourism practices, and they take great pride in being good stewards of the environment. Your expert guides will ensure your safety on the Skilled Suspension Bridges, Waterfall Rappelling, a famous “Monkey Drop,” an Inclined Rappel, Tree Climbing Ladders, Tree-Top Rappelling, and Canopy Tour Zip Lines. By the time you are done today you will have earned your adrenaline junkie badge!
Day 7
Manuel Antonio
Day 7 of your trip is all about enjoyment and relaxation! Enjoy the morning at your hotel or venture into town for some souvenir shopping. Then you will be picked up to go to the nearby town of Quepos where you will take a Sunset Catamaran Cruise. Late lunch and drinks are included, and there are lots of places to lounge and watch for marine life. Your captain will drop anchor near a protected cove, and will get out snorkeling equipment so you can hop in the warm Pacific waters and get a look below the surface. You’ll head back to port just as the sun is setting and watching a Costa Rican sunset from aboard a boat is a magical experience.
Day 8
Transfer to SJO
After breakfast (depending on the time of your flight), you will be transported by private shuttle to SJO airport (approx. 4 hours) for your return flight home.

Price does not include gratuities - it is customary to tip drivers, tour guides, housekeeping staff. There is a 10% gratuity added to restaurant bills, but additional tips for good service are greatly appreciated.

What to bring

You will be traveling to different regions, which have their own climates. Depending on when you come, there may be some rain, so rain jackets (lightweight) or ponchos are a good idea.

It can also be chilly and misty in the higher elevations, so layers are important.

Long pants are strongly recommended for some of these activities.

Be sure to bring several long sleeve and long pants (or leggings) options as your clothes may need to dry out in between wearings if you encounter wet conditions. Be sure to include a lightweight jacket, and/or a fleece. It can be quite cold and windy at higher elevations.
